The Osa Peninsula is the wildest corner of Costa Rica. Corcovado National Park protects the largest stretch of Pacific lowland rainforest in Central America – scarlet macaws over the beaches, all four monkey species in the canopy, tapirs at the river mouths and, with a bit of luck, a puma crossing your trail. Sightings are nature and never guaranteed, but few places stack the odds this heavily in your favour.

Luna Lodge sits on a hillside above Carate, at the very end of the road and right on the border of the park. A small, family-run eco-lodge with open-air bungalows, a yoga deck above the treetops, a spring-fed pool and a kitchen that cooks from its own garden. Your home is the Honeymoon Bungalow – the most private hideaway of the lodge, with a canopy-level terrace and outdoor shower.
