Trip Highlights

#1 on the Planet 🌎 The Galápagos Islands are without the best diving in the world. Everything that has been said about it is true: more fish, more pelagics, more diversity, more highlights. There won't be any experience that can match this one underwater.

Endemic Species 🦎 The buzzword in the Galápagos Islands is "endemic". The islands retain a staggering 95% of their native species, a feat unparalleled on any other archipelago in the world.

Large Pelagics 🦈 Schooling Hammerheads, giant whale sharks, rays, mantas, turtles, huge schools of tuna, Galápagos fur seals: everything here is big and in schools of hundreds. There is just no competition.

Explorer Ventures – Galápagos Liveaboards: Humboldt Explorer & Tiburon Explorer

For over 35 years, Explorer Ventures has been one of the world's most renowned liveaboard providers, known for professional organization, high safety standards, and comfortable diving experiences in small groups. In the Galápagos Islands, the company operates two modern vessels: the Humboldt Explorer and the Tiburon Explorer – both specially designed for discerning divers and ideal for expeditions to Wolf and Darwin.

The Humboldt Explorer (34 m) accommodates 16 guests in eight air-conditioned cabins with en-suite bathrooms. Extensively refurbished in 2023, the vessel features spacious lounges, a partially covered sun deck, and a Jacuzzi. The large dive deck offers individual storage options, camera tables, rinse stations, and convenient access via two pangas.

The Tiburon Explorer, built in 2020, combines modern technology with relaxed comfort. Here too, 16 guests have access to air-conditioned twin or double cabins with private bathrooms. Lounge and dining areas, a spacious sun deck, and a professional dive platform with camera stations ensure the highest quality on board.

Both yachts follow the classic Galapagos routes, focusing on Wolf and Darwin Islands – world-renowned for large schools of hammerhead sharks, Galapagos sharks, rays, and, seasonally, whale sharks. The number of dives depends on national park regulations and daily conditions; typically, up to four dives per day are offered.

Explorer Ventures stands for experience, reliability, and an excellent crew. The combination of modern, well-equipped vessels, professional dive logistics, and the unique wildlife of the Galapagos makes these liveaboards the ideal choice for divers seeking a high-quality yet adventurous experience.
